The 7th Annual Sgt Jeffrey Boucher Memorial Auto Bike & Truck Show was held August 18th, 2013. An exciting, event filled day drew thousands of spectators from across New England. Crowds arrived early to view the mud and rock crawl, the smoking excitement of the burn out exhibition, and the hundreds of show cars arriving throughout the day. Many strolled through the airport to the sounds of DJ Mike with Tri-M Entertainment to view the variety of show vehicles – classic cars, street rods, muscle cars, motorcycles, trucks, even a tractor or two were spotted. Food, raffles and vendors as well as helicopter rides over the city made for a fun-filled, entertaining day. 30 trophies were awarded in various catagories. Scholarships were presented on stage at noon.
Relocating to the Meriden- Markham Municipal Airport due to construction at our previous location brought many unique challenges. Our team faced obstacles and jumped hurdles in planning to make the airport a usable venue for this year’s show. Despite some unforeseen operational challenges, some arising day of show, we were able to continue our mission to keep this event in the Meriden community. We look forward to working with the community and our contributors in the coming year and in the spirit of giving back, creating an event enjoyed by all.
Due to long awaited construction at Hub, we relocated in 2013 to the Meriden-Markham Municipal Airport.
The Annual Auto Bike and Truck Show, first held in 2007, honors the memory of Sgt. Jeffrey Boucher. Jeffrey proudly served his country as a US Marine, and his community as a Meriden Police Officer.
The Officer Jeffrey Boucher Memorial Scholarship was created after Jeffrey’s death in 2006, to offer an opportunity for others to share his dedication to our youth and to the community. Jeffrey’s leadership and enthusiasm inspired many. In his short life he showed a dedication to our community, our youth in particular. This memorial keeps this spirit alive.
